Whether you are in a video shoot or are having a video conference, the background you choose is more important than you may think. Many times, people choose to go with natural surroundings only to realize that they have displayed things that shouldn’t have shown in public. When you are considering video backgrounds, keep in mind the following factors before you make your choice.
Choose a slower motion background
The last thing you would want to do is to make it harder for people in the video chat to focus on you. This can only be achieved if your video background isn’t moving too fast. When using backgrounds that involve motion, make sure to scrutinize them to ensure that they aren’t moving fast to the extent that it hard to concentrate on the video. When moving too fast, backgrounds can also hinder experience when trying to read text on the video.
The background you select should support the presentation
The background you select should be in line with your presentation or else it might put off your audience. Using a background that conflicts with the views of your audience or doesn’t appeal to their moral grounds isn’t ideal. Instead, tend to focus on backgrounds that help you communicate your message clearly rather than just for showing off.
Go for a design that isn’t cluttered
Solid backgrounds tend to work best with videos since they allow you to see every aspect. On the other hand, very busy backgrounds may interfere with the text display among other elements, making it hard for your audience to figure it out. With an uncluttered background, not only will you be enhancing your video presentation, but also making it eye catching.
Don’t use looping unless it is needed
Looping isn’t always ideal unless it can be used to convey your message much better than a solid background. You should, however, ensure that you choose the loops properly and blend the start and ending points to make it hard to distract your audience. Put more effort into achieving a seamless look that is more appealing. You should, therefore, put extra effort into selecting a good looping background.
Select the right type of encoding
The encoding your background uses should be compatible to the media you are using to record or stream your video. You shouldn’t go for heavy formats that make it hard to stream the video under normal circumstances. Remember the right resolution and the frame too. If you are using plugins, also make sure that those you select work with any background when you are adding texts.
